Austin Restaurant Guide

Whether you’re visiting Austin or you live here these spots are a must!!! I’m also still kinda new to Austin so I’ll be adding to this list as I check out more places! If I missed anything please comment below and tell me!!!

Coffee

I’m being real blunt on the coffeeβ€”they’re all amazing spots! And please, whatever you do, do not go to Starbucks when visiting a new cityβ€”there are SO many local coffee spots all over the world to try out. :)

Mozart’s

Located on Lake Austin, this place is fun to sit outside and grab coffee w/ a friend or bring your laptop and work! They sometimes even have live music!

Alfred

Yes, like the Alfred in LA. Get the chagaccino.

MaΓ±ana

Best matcha in town.

Greater Goods

Good coffee. Good morals.

Jo’s Coffee

An Austin-favorite. Located on South Congress, Jo’s Coffee is where the β€œI Love You So Much” sign is! (they also have one in the ATX airportβ€”I love getting their chai before a flight)

Breakfast/Brunch/Lunch

Picnik

Picnik is one of our go-to coffee spots when we’re not super hungry and need something to fill us up. They have the BEST bulletproof coffee. (my favorite is the mayan mocha) The entire place is completely gluten-free, peanut-free, and refined-sugar free. They have amazing breakfast/brunch and you HAVE to get the blondie. (they’re different than mine in a good way hehe)

Cafe No SΓ©

Cute spot on South Congress with really delicious breakfast. Their interior is very adorable and they offer a huge selection of coffee and baked goods as well! I love their granola and my bf is obsessed w/ the cowboy breakfast. Yeehaw!

June’s

Another really cute spot on South Congress for breakfast. Can’t go wrong with anything here! A little more quaint than Cafe No SΓ© if that’s more your vibe! Their steak & eggs are really delicious and I love their granola. The vibes here will also make you really want a mimosa!

Two Hands

A newer spot on South Congress that originated from NYC (so you KNOW it’s good). You can sit down and eat or order coffee at the little take-out window! Great spot to start before shopping on Congress all day!

P.S. their fries are bomb.com

Josephine House

A lovely little old house converted into a restaurant in Clarksville. The perfect spot for brunch with the girls or your significant other.

Hank’s

Hank’s is a versatile spot offering two sidesβ€”a coffee side and a restaurant side. You can go here to work on your laptop or visit their restaurant for a boozy brunch! Whatever you do just make sure to get Fronk’s milk with any of your coffee beverages!'

Drinks/Dinner

P6

D38CDE57-9920-40E9-9804-35C6AA09C8C3.jpeg

If you’re visiting Austin this is the ultimate spot for drinks! Located on the 6th floor of the Line Hotel, P6 offers fun cocktails and delicious appetizers. Pro tip: make a reservation because this spot can fill up fast!

Central Standard

This is our go-to spot for dinner. Their Campari Spritz is *chef’s kiss*! Located next to the South Congress Hotel, Central Standard is a fun place where everyone will find something on the menu they like! Their chopped salad is uh-mazing, seriously I crave this all the time. Their burger is incredible too!

Mattie’s

Mattie’s is an old farm house converted into a restaurant. This spot is ideal for a romantic date night or celebratory dinner. It’s quiet and makes you feel like you’re on vacation somewhere in the South! They even have peacocks roaming around the greens. Yes. Peacocks.

Suerte

Mexican but like very bougie Mexican. The food (and margs) here are insane. I’m pretty sure (too many margs) I order the goat tacos and can remember they were actually one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Be prepared to drop some $$$$ because this place isn’t cheap. But I promise it’s worth it!

Eberly

This is one of those restaurants that’s great for a big dinner, drinks with girlfriends, date night, etc. It’s located on South Lamar in a really cool building! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Joann’s Fine Food

A really funky spot on South Congress offering awesome food and delicious cocktails! A fun place to stop for a drink while shopping on Congress or dinner with friends!

Bar Peached

Bar Peached is one of those spots for when you want a more casual dinner but still want to put on a cute outfit, ya feel me?? Their asian-inspired food is SO GOOD. Pro tip: get the pork buns and any of their tacos!

Perla’s

Perla’s is an oyster bar located on South Congress. When you’re craving oysters, lobster rolls, and rosΓ© THIS is the place to be!

Summer House

We went here for my birthday and it was the best cute little casual-dish/simple spot! The burger is INCREDIBLE!

Terry Black’s BBQ

Are you not drooling just looking at this?!

Are you not drooling just looking at this?!

THE. BEST. BBQ. IN. AUSTIN. I know Franklin’s is all the rage and it’s literally 2 minutes from my apartment, but I’ve never been...I just really don’t want BBQ at 11am and Franklin’s is one of those (open till we sell out) kinda places. That’s what makes Terry Black’s so specialβ€”it’s open at dinner time (aka a reasonable time to chow down on BBQ). You wait in line and there’s even a little cash resister in line if you want to order drinks while you wait! It’s all part of the experience and VERY worth it! UH-MAZING. P.S. throw out allll your dietary restrictions when you eat here.

And there ya have it! My Austin restaurant roundup. As mentioned above, I’ll continue to add to this list and if YOU have any ATX recs you think I need to try out please let me know!
