“Naperol” Spritz
Call me basic, but I love a spritz. There’s something about an Aperol Spritz that fills my heart with joy. From apreès ski to the pool to dining al fresco, this cocktail is my year-round go-to. But let’s be real here, Aperol isn’t the most natural drink out there. Although I’m a sucker for that (mysterious) vibrant ombreé orange, when I make spritzes at home I switch to Contratto Aperitif, a natural alternative to Aperol...aka “naperol” lol.
Contratto Aperitif is less sweet than Aperol because it gets its coloring from carrots and beetroot! The next time you’re craving an at-home Italian-inspired cocktail I suggest giving my “Naperol” Spritz a try! :)
“Naperol” Spritz (serves 1)
Ingredients:
2 oz. Contratto Aperitif
4 oz. prosecco (my favorite is La Marca—it’s inexpensive & delish!)
juice of ¼ orange
2 oz. sparkling water or club soda
1 cup of ice
a couple dashes of bitters
orange slice for garnish
sprig of thyme for garnish
Instructions:
fill a wine glass with ice, add in prosecco, Contratto Aperitif, and juice of ¼ an orange
top with sparkling water, a couple dashes of bitters, and garnish with orange slice and sprig of thyme
serve & enjoy! *clink*
notes:
I’ve been drinking my spritz out of these acrylic wine glasses because I’m prone to breaking things and they’re bigger than your average wine glass. ;)
I also love using these CB2 straws or these gold straws to give your cocktail a fun vibe!
