A Must-Try Workout Platform

We all know I love fitness. And while there are many reasons I love fitness, one main reason is simply that I am able to move my body daily. I have an autoinflammatory disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis, which comes with a lot of back pain, especially at night and in the morning. And one thing every doctor says is to continue exercising because it keeps your joints loose and your muscles strong, which is not a problem for me because I love moving my body!

Working out makes me feel energized, happy, and strong, but if 2020 taught me one thing, it’s that working out is more than staying fit and healthy, it’s about community.

I grew up dancing and would always be told to feed off the energy of the other dancers in the room. I love boutique fitness/workout fitness classes because everyone in the room endures the same physical challenge, giving it a 'β€œwe’re all in this together” kinda mentality. I mean have you ever been in a SoulCycle class and every single rider is on the beat during the arm sequence? Or been in a dance class where everyone is moving perfectly in sync? Being a part of that is chilling and extremely powerful and something that truly energizes me!

When the pandemic hit I had no choice but to cancel my OTF membership. But I love fitness so I managed to continue moving my body whether that be going for a walk/run or taking advantage of online platforms. My bf and I began doing Burn Bootcamp workouts (they’re free on YouTube), which were amazing and all bodyweight focused meaning we didn’t need any equipment, but I was craving something a little more my style.

One day I was scrolling the Gram and stumbled upon a woman named Aubre Winters. After some light creeping (lol) I knew I needed to give her a follow because I could just tell her energy was something I needed. She started doing Instagram Live workouts to keep her followers moving during the lockdown and I instantly fell in love with her contagious energy, her uplifting workouts, and her positive outlook on fitness.

I would set my alarm to attend her live workouts treating them like a normal fitness class. I’d take the mirror off the wall in my entryway and prop it up against my window, put my laptop next to the mirror, set up any equipment I needed (3lbs. weights, resistance bands, gliders), and follow her workouts. I was hooked.

What got me hooked was Aubre’s dance cardio classes. It was the type of workout I didn’t know I needed. As mentioned above, I grew up dancing and I truly miss it so much. It was like I was back in the studio moving and grooving to upbeat music and having a blast while doing it. Aubre teaches short dance combos and mixes in a ton of toning work. They are instant mood boosters.

Aside from her dance cardio classes she also teaches barre, cardio barre, and sweaty sculpt. She created her own way of teaching called β€œSweat Sessions” and uses her Pure Barre and dance background to create the most incredible workouts.

After months of free live workouts, she noticed she needed to start makin’ a living and pivoted (most used word of 2020 lol) her workouts over to Zoom. She offers drop-in classes and monthly memberships. I chose the monthly membership because 1.) I’m obsessed with her workouts and 2.) it’s more bang for your buck. And in September, she hosted her first challenge. It was a month-long challenge focused on workouts, workshops, and community. And lemme tell you something…I have never been a part of such a strong (virtual) community of the most amazing women around the country. Scratch that, around the world. S/O to my fellow sweaty bishes, I love y’all so much!!!

There was something so moving and inspiring about her September challenge that assured me I would be a #SweatyBish for a longgggg time to come. In early January she launched her brand new on-demand platform full of her signature Sweat Sessions workouts and is also continuing to go live 3 days a week. (because that live energy is somethin’ else!!!)

If you are looking for a new workout routine, Sweat Sessions is your one-stop-shop for fitness. Aubre offers her signature workout along with 10, 20, and 30-minute classes, stretch sessions, and also breaks down basic workout form for those who are newer to fitness.

Her workouts have transformed my body, my mind, and my spirit in the best way possible and I am forever grateful for her!! Shoot me a DM if you’re looking to try one of her workouts! You will NOT regret it!!!!
